Molecular genetics of fungi, with focus on phytopathology and biotechnology.

Current research projects:

1.      Molecular genetics of ergot alkaloid biosynthesis in Claviceps purpurea

2.      Molecular analysis of the interaction system Claviceps purpurea /rye

Signalling and directed growth;

Role of reaction oxygen species (ROS) in the interaction of phytopathogenic fungi and their hosts.

3.      Pathogenicity factors of the grey mould Botrytis cinerea

Early stages of pathogenesis in plant pathogenic fungi;

T-DNA-insertinal mutagenesis;

Molecular interactions of pathogens with biotic and abiotic surfaces.
