Recently, Drs. Adriana Najar and Gonzalo Andres Avila from the New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research visited our university.

Dr. Adriana Najar and Dr. Gonzalo Andres Avila delivered academic reports titled "Chemical ecology and climate change - a multitrophic approach" and "Pre-emptive risk assessment: a key tool to maximize biocontrol preparedness against high-risk biosecurity threats" respectively. The two experts introduced the basic situation of the New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research and shared the latest research achievements of their research team in areas such as the impact of climate change on pests and their natural enemies, the biological control of invasive pests, and the risk assessment and effect evaluation of introduced natural enemies. More than 80 teachers and students from our university attended the seminar. The two experts and the participants had in-depth discussions on pest biological control related issues.

During their visit, the two experts toured our university's laboratories and had in-depth discussions with faculty members in the College of Plant Protection on jointly applying for international cooperation programs and conducting collaborative research. Both parties hope to further strengthen scientific research cooperation and exchanges in the future.
