To furtherly enhance students’ scientific and technological innovation capabilities of our university, and strengthen their sense of responsibility and mission for ecological conservation, the 6th Plant Protection Professional Skills and Insect Micro-Landscape Hand-making Competition, sponsored by the Academic Affairs Office and hosted by College of Plant Protection, Shaanxi Entomological Society, and Exhibition Garden, was held on July 18th.
This year’s competition consisted of 4 units: Insect Miniature Landscape Creation, On-site Specimen Preparation, Insect Anatomy and Structural Drawing, and Plant Pathology Experimental Operation and Pathogen Structure Drawing. The objective is to comprehensively test the comprehensive quality, professional knowledge, and operational skills of our students. The competition attracted over 100 teams and individuals from various colleges across the university, ultimately awarding 4 first prizes, 8 second prizes, and 10 third prizes.
The holding of this competition has provided a platform for students to showcase themselves, to exchange, and to learn. It is of great significance in cultivating university students to inherit excellent traditional culture, enhance their innovative spirit and practical abilities, and fostering more high-quality talents with a sense of social responsibility. Participating students have expressed their intentions to seize the opportunity of this competition, apply what they have learned, actively engage in practice, and contribute to building China into a country with more powerful agriculture.Relevant comrades from the Student Affairs Department, Youth League Committee, College of Plant Protection, Exhibition Garden, and other units attended the event and served as judges.
