The Sub-forum of the College of Plant Protection Under the 11th International Young Scholars Forum Successfully Held

To further promote and implement the strategy of strengthening universities and colleges through talent, the Sub-forum of the College of Plant Protection under the 11th International Young Scholars Forum was successfully held in the afternoon of November 28. The event invited 5 young scholars, including Associate Professor Yang Jinliang from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Postdoctoral Researcher Chen Jia from the College of Biology, Hunan University, Dr. Wang Guijie from Central China Normal University, Dr. Li Nana from Shenyang Agricultural University, and Dr. Wang Yaxin from Huazhong Agricultural University, to conduct academic exchanges through a combination of online and offline methods. The forum was hosted by Dean of the College of Plant Protection, NWAFU, Guo Jun, and Party Secretary Huang Mingxue attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Over 60 faculty members and students participated offline.




On behalf of the college, Huang Mingxue extended a warm welcome to the participating young scholars and briefly introduced the basic situation of the college. He stated that the college boasts a long history of education, excellent discipline culture, top-notch science and education platforms, and outstanding faculty, providing a favorable environment for young talents to showcase their abilities. He expressed his hope that these young talents would join the college soon and contribute to China's food security and rural revitalization strategy.

The participating young scholars focused on international academic frontiers and hot research areas in plant protection disciplines, and presented their latest research progress on topics such as "Future Agriculture with Low Nitrogen and High Yield - Searching for Missing Low Nitrogen Genes," "Regulated Cleavage and Translocation of FERONIA Control Immunity in Arabidopsis Roots," "Functional Study of C-type Lectin from Helicoverpa armigera in Antifungal Immunity and Gut Microbiota Homeostasis Maintenance," "Molecular and Cellular Mechanisms Underlying the Regulation of Transcription Factors in the Development of Bacterium-Containing Cells in Adult Bemisia tabaci," and "Mining and Molecular Mechanism Analysis of Insect-Resistant Genes in Cotton," based on their own research findings. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on related hot topics.



During the event, the young scholars visited the college's public platforms and laboratories and conducted negotiations and exchanges with faculty of related teams.
